8 Top Cleaning Tips For Your Dream Bathroom

8 Top Cleaning Tips For Your Dream Bathroom

23rd March 2021

Once you have your dream bathroom from Bassetts, you are going to want to keep it looking its best! Unfortunately, due to their constant use and the nature of the room, it can get dirty pretty quickly. This is why it is a good idea to have an organised plan to keep your dream bathroom easy to maintain and as tidy as possible. Here are 8 top cleaning tips for your dream bathroom.

1. Remove all items from the room for a thorough clean

Whether it’s towels, ornaments or shampoo bottles, when you are giving your bathroom a clean, remove everything from its usual spot and give both them and the area they were sitting in a thorough scrub. By just moving things as you go, you are likely to miss spots and accumulate more dirt and dust.

2. Dry your surfaces after washing them

It’s all well and good wiping your taps, shower door and toilet flusher with water and a cleaner, so it is sparkling, but if you don’t dry it after there is little point. The last thing you want on your gleaming new bathroom is watermarks, so be sure to dry it with a cloth once you are done cleaning.

3. Clean the toilet thoroughly

Let’s face it, the toilet gets a lot of use, and so dirt can be built up quickly. Ensure you clean all aspects of the toilet, from the lid to the bowl. It is a good idea to put bleach down the loo and don’t forget to disinfect your toilet brush too.

4. Use a low-sudsing cleaner for your floor

Bathroom floors can quickly accumulate dirt which you will want to clean, but you won’t want to dull the shine. Instead, commence your clean with a hoover to get rid of any debris, then clean with a low-sudsing cleanser to avoid leaving any residue. A steam mop is a great idea for getting up tough dirt from your bathroom floor.

5. Descale your shower head

If you are in an area of high limescale in your water, this is particularly important. Limescale on your showerhead can cause your water quality to decrease and it also starts to look horrible if left to build up.

6. Don’t forget the taps

Your taps can get grimy quickly, particularly as products like toothpaste can damage the coating. Clean regularly and don’t forget to polish once you are done for optimum shine.

7. Clean your bathtub on a regular basis

As the bath is used to clean the body, the dirt can get attached to the side, and there is nothing more unsightly than bath tide marks! Clean with a specialist bathroom cleaner and give it a good scrub at least once a week. Be sure to always rinse the tub out after each use to prevent the build-up of too much dirt.

8. Invest in some air fresheners

Once your bathroom is clean and fresh, you want it to stay smelling that way. Leave your window open when you can, and also invest in some air fresheners or reed diffusers. These will keep the clean smell for longer and make it a much nicer place to be in.

We hope these tips help you plan your bathroom cleaning routine, so that you can keep your dream bathroom looking as dreamy as ever for years to come!
